Photographer
Terry Asma has developed his unique style over thirty years, thirty-five
countries and five continents. His images transform mundane tasks,
from shaving to street sweeping, into social documentaries, revealing
the common threads we share with all cultures. His photos have been
published across the country, and internationally.
His fondness for Asia has compelled him to backpack in India and southeast
Asia, teach English in Taiwan, lumber across Russia, Mongolia and
China on the Trans-Siberian train, explore the Mekong River Delta,
and volunteer in Indonesia after the recent tsunami. When he is not
on the road, he lives in Dundas, Ontario. "Here is a quote",
he said "that sort of sums up my feelings on the story, or why
I wanted to photograph this issue. Not my words I know but they're
good ones."
"Vision without action is
merely a dream
Action without vision just passes the time
Vision with action can change the world"
